TMJ Treatment Program

We have a Certified TMJ Therapy specialist to treat TMJ disorder problems. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the area directly in front of the ear on either side of the head where the upper jaw (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible) meet. TMJ pain disorders usually occur because of unbalanced activity, spasm or overuse of the jaw muscles. The following are common symptoms: Headaches, Ear Pain, Dizziness, 

Treatments are available for TMJ:

Joint mobilization/ manipulation- Upper cervical impairments, mid cervical impairments, Thoracic impairments.
Soft Tissue Mobilization - Pterygoid release. Modalities – Ice and heat for self-management, treatment using Iontophoresis. Patient Education- Don’t chew hard foods such as bagels, nuts, and hard candy. Exercise- Posture training, training stability in upper cervical spine, diaphragmatic breathing training, stability training.
